The UK hotels that actually get babies

Not just "a cot on request". Six UK hotels with proper baby clubs, bottle warmers in the room and early tea for tiny people, so your first break away feels like a holiday and not a very expensive night of no sleep.

The first trip away with a baby is a big deal. Packing alone takes a day. So the hotel has to earn it: somewhere that already has the steriliser, the baby monitor and a team who can take your little one for an hour while you finish a coffee while it is still hot. These are the places we would book, from the Cotswolds to the Highlands.

The legendary Perthshire estate is brilliant with families. For babies, it's about the details: cots in family rooms, chefs who will prepare baby meals with notice, nappies if you run out and the "Little Royals" local babysitters for ages 0 to 6, so you can still have that dinner. Before you book

  • Ask what "baby-friendly" means. Cot, linen, bottle warmer, steriliser, blackout blinds and a baby bath are all worth checking.
  • Book childcare when you book the room. Free sessions at popular hotels go fast, especially in the holidays.
  • Go term-time if you can. It's quieter and often cheaper, and many baby packages only run outside school holidays.
  • Check the safe sleep set-up. A firm, flat cot mattress with no bumpers or pillows, as the Lullaby Trust advises.

Your questions answered

What makes a hotel baby-friendly?
Look for cots and baby kit in the room (bottle warmer, steriliser, baby bath), a baby listening or monitor service, early tea for little ones and, ideally, an Ofsted-registered crèche or kids' club that takes babies.

Which UK hotels have a crèche for babies?
Woolley Grange, The Ickworth and Fowey Hall have Ofsted-registered Four Bears Den clubs from 3 months, Another Place, The Lake has an Ofsted-registered group from 6 months and Calcot & Spa has an Ofsted-registered Playbarn crèche.

When is the best time to take a baby on a UK hotel break?
Term time is usually quieter and cheaper, and many baby packages and free childcare sessions are easier to book outside the school holidays.

Facilities, prices and opening details were checked on each hotel's own website on 9 October 2026 and can change, so always confirm when you book. Photos courtesy of the hotels. This is an independent Motherhood edit, not a paid feature.

If you’re trying to conceive (TTC), you probably know that there are certain foods and nutrients that become especially important once you’re pregnant. But nutrition plays a vital role even when trying to conceive, much like laying a strong foundation before constructing a house.

Certain nutrients create that foundation by supporting egg and sperm health (yes, nutrition matters for both partners), hormone balance and creating a hospitable environment for a fertilized egg to implant. In fact, studies show that certain nutrients can help increase fertility and improve success rates for both natural conception and fertility treatments.

‍

In other words, nutrition is a key player in the TTC journey, but getting the right nutrients in the right quantities can be tricky. That’s where supplements come in. Just as you’d take a multivitamin to fill in nutritional gaps for optimal health, fertility supplements can give you that extra nutrient boost.
