Which Tula print are you? A style guide to the new collection

Fifteen new prints, four fabrics and three carriers. How to pick a Tula that goes with the clothes you actually wear, from wardrobe-proof neutrals to the prints that do the talking.

A baby carrier is the one thing you will wear more than your favourite jeans. On the school run, round the supermarket, pacing the hallway at 6pm. So it makes sense that it should look like something you chose, not something you put up with.

That is the thinking behind the relaunched Tula collection, which arrived in September with a new look and a new line-up of prints. (We covered the full Tula relaunch when it happened.) As Tula's CMO Heberto Calves puts it, "Motherhood becomes another dimension of their identity, not a replacement for it." Here is how to find the print that feels like you.

First, pick your carrier

All three carriers share the same ergonomic design Tula has refined since 2009. The new names make it easier to work out which one you need.

  • Tula Explore, £199.90. The award-winning all-rounder, from 3.2kg to 15.9kg, with three carrying positions, padded shoulder straps, an adjustable waistband and a large storage pocket. The one to go for if you want a single carrier from the newborn days onwards.
  • Tula Original, £164.90. Formerly Free to Grow. A supportive fit with two carrying positions, from 3.2kg to 15.9kg, for parents who want something simple for everyday use.
  • Tula Kid, £164.90. Formerly Toddler. Carries up to 27.2kg, for the bigger child whose legs give out halfway round the park.

Then, pick your fabric

Herringbone Twill is woven with several yarns for a textured, premium feel, a bit like a good tailored coat. Linen Twill is new and lighter. Cotton is buttery soft and carries the hand-drawn prints. And Mesh, the fan favourite, is airy and flexible, ideal for warm days or for anyone who runs hot with a baby strapped to them.

The neutral dresser

If your wardrobe is camel, cream, grey and navy, start with the herringbone linen trio: Ash, Sand and Spruce. They are seasonless, gender neutral and go with everything you already own. Cocoa is a rich, grounding brown that looks expensive in the best way, and Skyline is a clean, airy neutral that works with denim all year round.

The print lover

For anyone whose favourite coat is leopard, the animal prints have a grown-up twist. Snow Cat is a soft watercolour animal print in linen, subtle enough for every day. Black Mirage is an abstract take on animal print with a sporty edge, and Sahara Stripe is a soft zebra in this season's warm palette.

The romantic

If you live in floaty dresses and broderie, look at the cotton prints. Chantilly Botanica is a lace-inspired neutral that quietly lifts a plain outfit. Shadow Petals is a blurred, modern floral. Covey takes its cue from natural patterns and movement for an easy everyday print, and the mesh Twilight Meadow is a hand-painted floral that balances pretty with understated.

The busy one

Always on the go, always a bit too warm? The mesh carriers are for you. Urbanista is a solid black staple that goes with literally everything. Willow Grove Check is a classic check in a fresh, modern colour. Seaside Speckle is a coastal-inspired neutral that is casual but polished, and Santorini Tiles is a mosaic print for when you want a little holiday energy on a Tuesday.

The best carrier is the one you reach for every day. If you love how it looks, you will.

A quick word on safety

However good it looks, a carrier needs to fit well. Follow the manufacturer's instructions and the Lullaby Trust's TICKS guidance: tight, in view at all times, close enough to kiss, keep chin off chest and a supported back. Tula is a business member of the Baby Carrier Industry Alliance, and if you want a hand with fit, your local sling library can help.

If you’re trying to conceive (TTC), you probably know that there are certain foods and nutrients that become especially important once you’re pregnant. But nutrition plays a vital role even when trying to conceive, much like laying a strong foundation before constructing a house.

Certain nutrients create that foundation by supporting egg and sperm health (yes, nutrition matters for both partners), hormone balance and creating a hospitable environment for a fertilized egg to implant. In fact, studies show that certain nutrients can help increase fertility and improve success rates for both natural conception and fertility treatments.

‍

In other words, nutrition is a key player in the TTC journey, but getting the right nutrients in the right quantities can be tricky. That’s where supplements come in. Just as you’d take a multivitamin to fill in nutritional gaps for optimal health, fertility supplements can give you that extra nutrient boost.
